The Boho Hippie Market Bag by Cactus & Lace Designs : Avery Lane Creations

This past week, I had the pleasure of testing the pattern for the Boho Hippie Market Bag by Cactus & Lace Designs. This was my first time testing a pattern for someone and I really enjoyed it. I’ve been busy designing my own patterns and have been in my own little crochet world so, I just kind of stumbled upon this opportunity.

I was scrolling through Instagram and saw a picture of this awesome looking bag in my favorite color yarn! It was a scroll stopping picture – I had to check it out further! And…. I am so happy that I did! In her post she said to comment if you wanted to test her pattern. Now, usually I don’t have time to take on another project but, this time was different. I felt good about it and I felt like it would be a great pattern to share with my blog readers too. I was so excited when I got a message from her telling me that I was one of the people she choose to test her pattern.

It took me a few days to decide what color yarn I wanted to use because I was really stuck on using my favorite yarn – I Love This Yarn in the color Painted Canyon but, I knew I wanted to also do something a little different so I ended up deciding to go with a color I wouldn’t normally choose. I used – I Love This Yarn in the color Blossomopolis.

I was planning on doing the entire bag in this color but when I got close to finishing the bag, I decided I would do the top part of the bag and the handles in a solid color. I am so glad that I decided to use the solid color because I just love how it turned out. I had so much fun making this bag I am itching to make another one.

I am constantly amazed at the talented people in the crochet world and when I have a chance to support a fellow crocheter I’m more than happy to do so. Ashley, the crocheter behind Cactus & Lace Designs, has such a natural talent for designing crochet patterns.

This is her very first pattern that she has released to the public and I’m so excited for her.

I posted a picture of my finished Boho Hippie Market Bag on my Facebook page with no real intention of selling it. To be honest I was still on the fence about keeping it for myself or selling it and then a sweet customer of mine commented that she wanted to purchase the bag not long after I made the post.

It made my day! And then a few minutes after her comment, I had another order for one!
