Maker Monday: A Knotty Habit Designs
One of my favorite things about crocheting is the community aspect – and I love it even more because there are so many people that have become some of my dearest friends. It’s hard to believe, but in such a short time, crochet has brought me into contact with such a variety of wonderful individuals who all share this common thread in their lives! In an effort to bring you closer to these amazing women (and occasionally men), I plan on periodically featuring them here. Today we’re going to meet Danielle from A Knotty Habit Designs.
Danielle’s crochet designs are always eye-catching, and she has a true talent for pairing the perfect colors. Her knack for using variegated yarns with solid ones is truly an art in itself.
The design that caught my attention and introduced me to Danielle is her The Hideaway Infinity. It really stood out and I think it is so clever. It has a hidden zipper pocket on the inside of the scarf.
Danielle lives in Airdrie, Alberta and has a love for all things creative. The cold winters they experience there are not easy but it does provides inspiration to create pieces that help them get through the winter months. Her latest design, Overcomer Shawl is inspired by her recent diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis which has made creating more difficult at times due to joint pain or stiffness so this project was both therapeutic as well as an outlet from some frustration.
Danielle is such an inspiration. Even through her recent diagnosis with RA, she has found a way to inspire others and help others with RA with her encouragement and positive mindset.
Danielle loves designing hats and cowls. Her top 3 favorite designs are her Mayanne Slouch, Changing Course Cowl and Overcomer Shawl. It is honestly so hard for her to pick because she puts so much love into each of her designs.
